The economic crisis which plunged the UK officially into recession revealed the fragile foundations in banking institutions that once seemed invincible.
It revealed that financial industries of global economies were riven with speculative money making instruments by investment bankers acting with impunity in a game of no personal risk, in the knowledge that they were too large to be allowed fail.
